The imposing Scott Monument in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh was completed in 1846 to remember Sir Walter Scott. His statue is contained within the four columns of the structure. A series of spiral staircases lead to panormic views of Edinburgh from where you can spot 4 figures not visible from the ground. Of the 68 figures spotted on the monument, 64 are characters from Sir Walter Scott's novels.
