Dunnottar Castle - Stonehaven Apron, Scottish Cooking Apparel, Chef Accessory
A ruined medival fortress, Dunnottar Castle is located on rocky headland on the northeast coast of Scotland, near the town of Stonehaven. Built from about 1400 to 1600, the ruins were used up until 1718. The steep cliffs and narrow strip of land which attached the headland to the mainland made it the perfect location. It's probably why it was used to hide the Honours of Scotland, the Scottish Crown Jewels, from the invading armies in the 17th Century.
This artistic interpretation shows off that headland position and elements of the ruins that can be visited today.
